Staff Bios

Dr. Vicki Monnig received her DVM degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985.  She came to work at Farmington Animal Hospital in 1987 and purchased the practice in 1992.  Dr. Monnig and her husband Joe, the hospital administrator, have a son, Andrew, who is currently teaching in Columbia Missouri.  They share their home with 3 golden retrievers (Rory, Diva and Tessa), a cat (Gertrude), and 5 parakeets, as well as providing support to 4 horses, 2 ferrets, and an ever-changing assortment of barn cats.

 

Dr. Jennifer Maloney received her DVM degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  She was born and raised in Farmington and began working at Farmington Animal Hospital as a high school student.  After high school, she received a BS in Animal Science from the University of Missouri and spent some time working at the World Bird Sanctuary before pursuing her veterinary degree.  She and her husband Tim have 3 children, Clare, Luke, and John, and a Labrador retriever named Pearl.

 

Joe Monnig, hospital administrator, is the husband of Dr. Monnig.  He graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife and spent 13 years working for the Missouri state park system as a superintendent at Lake of the Ozarks, Pershing, Elephant Rocks, and Hawn state parks.  Joe retired from the state park system in 1992 when the Monnigs purchased Farmington Animal Hospital.

 

Jennifer Tucker, receptionist, began working at Farmington Animal Hospital in 1995 while she was in high school.  She graduated from Jefferson College in 1999 with a degree in veterinary technology.  Jennifer and her husband Kris have 2 daughters, Alyson and Jayden, a boxer named Emma, a chihuahua named Sookie and a cat named Gemma.

 

Kylie Copeland, receptionist, is a graduate of Farmington High School and has been employed at Farmington Animal Hospital since 2002.  Kylie and her husband Aaron have a son Gaige and a daughter Gradi.  The family has 2 dogs, Ellie Mae and Penny, and a small herd of cows.

 

Earlene DeRousse, veterinary technician, received her associate’s degree in veterinary technology from Jefferson College in 1997.  She has been employed at Farmington Animal Hospital since 1998.  Earlene and her husband Kevin have a daughter, Madison, and a cat, Crinkle Tom Sawyer.

 

Cindy Kaughman, veterinary assistant, has a BS in Agriculture from the University of Missouri.  She has been employed at Farmington Animal Hospital since 2001.  Cindy and her husband, Rick, and son, Kurtis, have an assortment of dogs (Rhett, Scarlet, Gateway, and Kiki), cats (Archie, Baby, Meg and Ralph), a pony named Buddy, and a small flock of banty chickens.

 

Wendy Cruse, hospital aide, is a graduate of Farmington High School.  She began working at Farmington Animal Hospital in 2001 while still in high school.  Wendy and her husband Garey have a daughter named Piper and a son named Cam.  Pets include a cockapoo named Fiona and a boxer named Jab.

 

Batman and Robin have been residents of Farmington Animal Hospital since they were orphaned at 5 weeks of age in 2006.  Although the initial plan was to find them a new home, they adapted so well to life in the animal hospital we decided to make them our permanent in-house entertainment committee.
